Susan Scherer is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in oncology and cancer care. Her healthcare experience and nursing expand over 30 years; including trauma, neurological oncology, endocrine, oncology emergency medicine and research. In 2013, Susan founded RN Cancer Guide Solutions (RNCG): Her company hired oncology nurse navigators to help cancer patients and families navigate the emotional, medical, and financial barriers associated with cancer care. She created the first Employee Cancer Assistance Program (ECAP) reaching both private and commercial payers to reduce cost associates with cancer care. She was named a Florida Hospital Hero in 2006 by the Florida Hospital Association for her efforts to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. In 2013, she was 1 out of 4 National finalists nominated for the Oncology Nurse Excellence award presented by the Academy of Oncology Nurse Navigators. May 2014, Susan received the Avella C.A.R.E. Award for Outstanding Nurses. July 2014, Susan was named Tampa Bay Business Journal 2014 Healthcare Hero Finalist. She has been recognized was also nationally recognized at one of the top nurse leaders by National Nurses in Business Association 2017. Susan served on the Greater Tampa Oncology Nursing Society as their Legislative Liaison. Co- Chaired Southwest Cancer Control Collaborative. She also served on the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) National Nurse Navigation SIG Leadership Board. She was closely involved with ONS Health Policy in Washington DC and on the State level. In July 2017, she drafted and passed and expansion The Rights and Responsibilities of Patients Bill (CS/SB1253) in the state of Florida.

February 2018, Susan founded her second company Heavenly Hash Creamery, creating a high protein ice cream with and without CBD all patients especially those suffering from extreme weight loss and difficulty healing. Susan is Veteran of US Air Force; received her BSN from the University of South Florida and is a Certified Oncology Nurse. She is currently enrolled at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy working on her master’s science degree in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics.

Susan continues to be a strong patient advocate and contributes on various business, education, and advisory councils to improve health care throughout the United States. Her passion is healthcare entrepreneurship and improving the quality of life in others. She spends her time with her fiancée Fred and her children and new little granddaughter hanging by the beach and traveling.
