Lawrence L. Allen has published both non-fiction and fiction books. His first book was non-fiction and published in 2010 by AMACOM/HarperCollins, entitled Chocolate Fortunes: The Battle for the Hearts, Minds, and Wallets of China’s Consumers.He has subsequently published various works of fiction ranging from a 422-page trilogy to novellas. Tree of Liberty: Trilogy(novel) was awarded the Best Political Thriller of 2014 by Kathryn Raaker’s Let’s Just Talk Radiobook club. More recently, he produced three novella-length fictional adaptations of life stories: Hamburger Heaven(a novella composed of material cut from Tree of Liberty), Elizabeth Bromwell: Chronicles of an Expat Spy, and The Last, The Lost, and The Least. Allen draws heavily from his 20-year experience as an expatriate businessperson, living and working in Hong Kong, Beijing and other places in the Asia Pacific Region for companies such as Hershey and Nestle.
